Asking for directions in English is easy if you use polite and short sentences.
When you need help, you can start like this:
“Excuse me, can you help me?”
or
“Excuse me, I’m looking for…”
Then say the place:
“I’m looking for the train station.”
“I’m looking for this address.”
If someone is explaining the way, listen for simple words like “left,” “right,” and “straight.”
You can also ask for clarity if you don’t understand:
“Sorry, can you say that again?”
“Is it far from here?”
To confirm, you can repeat back:
“So I go straight and then turn left?”
If you want extra help, you can ask:
“How long does it take to get there?”
The most important thing is confidence. Even basic English works because people usually try to help when they understand what you need.
