Negative sentences in English are just sentences that show something is NOT happening or NOT true.
You usually make them by adding words like “not”, “don’t”, “doesn’t”, “didn’t”, “isn’t”, “aren’t”, depending on the tense.
Here’s how it works in a simple way:
Present simple
We use don’t or doesn’t
I don’t like tea
He doesn’t go to school on Sunday
Past simple
We use didn’t
I didn’t see him yesterday
She didn’t go to the party
Present continuous
We use am not / isn’t / aren’t
I am not working now
She isn’t sleeping
They aren’t coming
Easy trick to remember
If there is no “be verb” (am, is, are), use don’t/doesn’t/didn’t
If there is a “be verb”, just add “not” after it
